All you need to transfer your dvd to your VCD is:

• DVDPe or DVDPe Pro
• Nero Buring ROM

1. Select the target format

Press button to select MPEG1 on the main panel. then click option and show the list of Profiles (VCD Profile Field) select one of the offered VCD profiles. You can also click Edit Profile button to manually set the VCD profile parameters.

For novice users it is recommended to select one of the default VCD profiles.

If you would like to change the video file parameters you can edit the following information


PAL Film

2. Loading DVD:

Insert DVD disc into the DVD Drive,click on "open DVD"(1st button) or "open IFO File "(2nd button) button to load DVD. It is important to select the IFO file, because the IFO file contains the information about the entire DVD structure and this way you will avoid audio and video de-synch problems when converting.

3. Choosing titles and chapters:

Here you have to select the Title which has the BIGGEST length. In our situation it is Title01. Highlight it and then click select. Don't worry about the other ones, they are just intros, extras or ads of the movie.Choose(check) the video clip or chapters you want to convert,right click your mouse to check for individual video clip/chapter,you can also rip from any positon to any positon of a chapter with using "split" button

4.Set up a proper video output file path.
Click the Browse... button next to Output File Name field and select a location on your HDD for the output video file.

5.Convert your DVD files.
After you have set up all the conversion parameters, hit the start! button to start converting.

6.Burn the converted video file with Nero Burning Rom.
The end! Just click the start button and wait for 4-12 hours depending on the movie's length and your PC's speed. Then you can burn your MPEG files with any buring program that supports VCD/SVCD options such as Nero Buring ROM.

Launch Nero.Close the Wizard. Select File->New.
Select VideoCD . Select PAL or NTSC depending what format your source MPEG is in. And hit New.

Locate your .mpg and drag it(see picture below). Remember that you can add several .mpgs also, each mpg will be a own track on the VCD and you can add data files also, just drag them to any folder.

Check the time. It should be the same as in the movie.
Rename the CD to anything you like by clicking F2 on NEW.
Select File->Write CD.

Select Write speed, lower may work better if you get problem playing the VCD. Select Disc at once and Finalize CD. Hit Write.

Problems
When adding a mpg file to the Tracks list can Nero complain about the standard, it looks like the picutre below here. It will show what settings that are incorrect, you can now either let Nero re-encode the video to the correct file but it will take some time or you can turn of standard compliance and burn anyway and it might work on your player(you have made a XVCD) or if the settings are correct you may only need to repair the mpg
